Shiatsu And Me
This journey that began for me with the wish to find a natural way to support myself through injury and cyclical depression, led me to discover my first Shiatsu Practitioner in 1996 and then to enrol in my first Shiatsu class in April 2002.
For me, the receiving and giving of Shiatsu has been the therapy that has been the instrument that has guided me to manage life’s challenges and in that, more ease and acceptance, resilience in my relationship with myself, others and with the world I live in.
Further embodiment exploration has led me to learn other breath and somatic movement methods that inspire my work and support my growth as life’s adventures continue to unfold.
This work has taught me that within the difficulty there is always opportunity for learning and change to happen. Always a way for a new perspective and emergence to find more of the freedom and vitality we desire.
I began my 3-year training at the British School of Shiatsu-Do in London in 2002. This ancient Japanese healing art made sense to me as a listening dance around the body that empowered deep change and connected me also into the wisdom of nature.
The language and metaphor of this touch therapy was the support I needed to guide me through regular dips of depression and anxiety. The power of working with the Qi (our Life Force), breath and awareness is transformational as I witness the lasting changes both in myself and in the people I work with.
In 2014 I qualified as a Shiatsu Shin Tai Teacher and in 2020 completed the Facilitator’s training with Integrative Breath - using conscious connected breathwork.
I have taught Introductory Shiatsu and Shin Tai certified training with the British School of Shiatsu, and now run workshops and courses for beginners, graduates and bodyworkers. I facilitate themed workshops at festivals, for workplace teams and on retreats. I hold fortnightly on-line Self-Shiatsu classes and offer mentoring and teacher training support for students and graduates.
I consider myself a creative, resourceful lifelong learner and I’m grateful to the many many people I’ve met and worked with, who have been my greatest teachers.

Parenthood
My children were aged 4 and 2 when I began my Shiatsu training. I found it so useful to have some tools to help them with growing pains, tummy aches, worries or injuries. I often felt that parenting was the hardest job and Shiatsu helped me to navigate through their fast changing phases of development. Now at 23 and 25 years old they continue to inspire and teach me as I see them grow into making their own way in the world.
