FwSS (Teacher registered with the Shiatsu Society), CQSW, MSc
For over 30 years I have been supporting people to live life to their fullest potential.
I use the healing power of Shiatsu, embodiment practices, body friendly ‘Clean Language’ and breathwork to awaken your innate self-healing capacity.
I believe our bodies hold the memories of our experiences, beliefs, habits, and that we can re-connect to all parts of ourselves, release inner tensions or traumas so we can live life with more vitality, freedom and joy.
I completed my 3-year Shiatsu Diploma in 2005 at The British School of Shiatsu-Do in London, and later qualified as a Shiatsu Shin Tai Teacher in 2014, recognized by the Shiatsu Society UK . In 2020 I trained as a Breathwork Facilitator using Conscious Connected Breath with Integrative Breath.
I am based in North London – N11 or in NW3 – and always happy to travel for workshops, festivals or teaching opportunities. I taught the first year certificated Foundation and Shin Tai training with the British School of Shiatsu, and continue to run workshops for beginners and graduates. I presented Shiatsu themed workshops in the healing fields of Glastonbury, Shambala and Campo Sancho festivals, and at a women’s empowerment retreat in Spain. I guide work-place teams in self-care and team building, plus I guide self-Shiatsu classes online.
I studied Psychology at Manchester University and after managing a youth movement and travelling in Asia, I trained in Social Work and worked as a Probation Officer for 8 years prior to finding Shiatsu and knowing this was the home for me.
In both these roles, I’ve worked in the fields of addiction, anxiety, mental health, older adults, pain, cancer support and trauma.
I spent 7 years in the office of the British School of Shiatsu-Do, as Registrar and running the venue hire busines, before returning to Social Work where I now work part-time with older adults and their families, supporting through later life planning, living with dementia and in the final phase of life.
I am mother to two young adults and live near Arnos Grove, North London where I hold my Shiatsu clinic as well as Shiatsu in Primrose Hill.
My own practises of Shadow Yoga, somatic movement/dance, proprioceptive and light body meditations, breathwork and Ki Gung, explorations in nature, keep me connected and inform my work. I keep informed on research in trauma and neuroscience/polyvagul/ East Asian philosophies, nutrition and complementary health.
